the House Mascots Display

4/18/24

On 16th April, we successfully hung our artwork on the Halo Theater, and many school principals, teachers, and students appreciated it.

This artwork consists of the four letters of SCIE, each adorned with the mascot of our four houses in their representative colors: Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Azure Dragon.

We chose to design these artworks for SCIE because, in Chinese culture, these four mythical creatures hold significant meanings: The Vermilion Bird symbolizes joy and unity., the White Tiger embodies auspiciousness and fortune, the Black Tortoise signifies health and peace, and the Azure Dragon represents wisdom and prosperity. Therefore, giving these artworks to SCIE symbolizes our sincere blessings and hopes for the school's bright future.

By incorporating traditional Chinese mythical creatures into Western letters, this artwork represents the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, reflecting SCIE's commitment to cultural inclusiveness. Located in China, SCIE embraces diversity with experienced teachers from various cultures, which provides an invaluable opportunity for traditional Chinese culture to intersect with Western values. This creates a unique and harmonious learning environment that blends Eastern charm with Western sophistication, enabling SCIE students to place a strong emphasis on nurturing global perspectives and cultural understanding.

Therefore, by exhibiting these artworks at the theater entrance, all teachers, students, parents, and visitors passing by can admire our creations. These artworks will also become an integral part of SCIE's culture, further enriching SCIE's cultural tapestry.

Today we invited our two principals, Mr. Boris and Mr. Mobsby, our supervisor Miss. Clara, and our teacher Miss. Jamie to take a group photo with us:
